I own a P Duo and do not regret my purchase. As mentioned, at Calguns prices, I probably would not but retail, I have zero complaints.

For me, if I have the cash on hand at the moment and one becomes available, it would be hard not to pull the trigger. Its the holy grail of the moment on the gun forums.
I love my 1911s and its hard to not want to try out a great gun, its just the CA gun roster hostage premium makes it hard to swallow.
I want more Leos to take the plunge (for personal evaluation purposes of course), and then do the catch and release thing so we can increase the supply and hopefully lower the prices in the long run.
Dear Staccato, I encourage you to follow the Gaston Glock model and flood the CA law enforcement market with good guns at impossible to refuse terms (low cost guns, generous support and training, no questions asked returns/repairs, even more generous Leo discounts for their personal guns , etc). Basically, just hand them out lol.
I hope Biden's AFT
ain't reading this and try to shut down Leo exemption from the roster.

Get it with an optic and you'll be a happy camper. Get it cleared for duty and you'll be even happier.sigpic

Maybe if you live in a free state the price may be worth it. It no way worth the off roster rip off.
Personally even though being in a free state id rather put money into a 1911Comment

Thanks for providing the free state perspective. You are not looking at the gun with the "forbidden fruit" (or more like Gollum's, "My precious!!!) perspective that most of us cal gunners do. The Staccato P free state price is in Les Baer territory for example.
The roster price premium for off roster guns can be totally insane. Of course, paying more in California comes with the territory as evidenced by the inflated prices we pay for gasoline, housing, and cost of living in general. Of course a lot of the inflation is self inflicted, gifted to us by our socialist legislators (jk, but true). Look at the gas tax per gallon $0.51.
For me, I am always looking to add to my 1911 stable. I'm always looking at the next "one." I appreciate the different approaches of the various gun makers. For me, a staccato is another cool 1911; the ease of shooting is icing on the cake and something I'd like to try.

My favorite pistol Iv owned to date. Definitely worth the price especially if you can get the discount from staccato to bring down the price. But as others have said not worth calgun prices. Buddy is picking. Up an atlas so I can’t wait to see the side by side difference.Comment
