Sounds like a downgrade. You should upgrade to the stock one that doesn't grind.

Doesn’t seem like much of an “upgrade”. What was wrong with the stock slide and backplate? Seems like a downgrade if the stock parts were working flawlessly and you replaced them with subpar parts that are causing problems.

I don't see "grinding" in the pic.

Logic dictates that if the new part is grinding on the frame then the part is out of spec. Return/exchange it or live with it.

Pistol was shooting to the right? Going by the rear sight position. Could be the pic tho.

Just my opinion but when it comes to style and personal taste... If you think it's an upgrade, then it's an upgrade.

( but that's coming from someone who likes the factory backplate.)


Anyway, since its a relatively easy thing to switch out I would switch back to the original one and make sure that eliminates the grinding issue that you are currently experiencing.

Maybe it's something else that is out of whack from when you disassembled the gun and installed the upgraded part?

Also while you have the gun disassembled you can compare both the stock piece and the new upgrade piece to see if there are dimensional shape or measurement differences.

Worst case scenario, you could always send back that upgrade part to the manufacturer for a replacement ( different model Glocks will take different model back plates.) Or a refund.

Could it cause a malfunction? It may. As to if it will, there's only one way to find out. Although if it is causing any damage to the frame, you'd probably be better off not using it, and sticking with the part you know will work.
