Just moved back.. PPT need FSC?

Just moved back to California. Trading one of my handguns for another person's, will I need any special documentation to complete the PPT?

I've seen the term FSC thrown around. I had a Handgun Safety Card a decade ago. Is that the quasi-replacement for the HSC?

I haven't kept in touch with California's ever-changing laws.. excuse me for the ever so common law question thread.

As a transferor (seller/lender/giver), you will need:
Either 1A or 1B.
1A. valid CA REAL DL/ID.
1B. valid CA FLA DL/ID with proof that you are legally in the USA.

As a transferee (buyer/lendee/recipient), you will need:
Either 1A or 1B.
1A. valid REAL CA DL/ID.
1B. valid FLA CA DL/ID with proof that you are legally in the USA.
2. proof of CA residency.
3. valid FSC or exemption to the FSC.

In 2015, the Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) was replaced with the Firearm Safety Certifcate (FSC).
Starting 01-01-2015, unless exempt, a valid FSC is required to legally obtain a firearm in CA. [PC 31615(a)]

Thr good ol fsc.I remember in 94 buying my first handgun and needed one back then it was to be a lifetime card how quick that changed.LOL

Before the FSC it was a BFSC. Also veterans were exempt now only retired military is.

I believe a passport can be used in place of a Ca. real ID.
It's always best to speak with the ffl that will be handling the transfer as some of them interpret the rules a little differently.
