Pick my grips!!

I want some help with deciding what grips to put on my first 1911. I'm not a big fan of Cocobolo, so throw that out. Also, does anyone have firsthand experience with VZ's Alien grips? Anyways, suggest something in the $50-80 range. Post pics! Thanks!

Alumagrips

I think that black Alumagrips would look good with your gun, given its black frame and stainless slide. I have them on my Colt Defender. They adhere to my hand very well without sharp checkering.

I have the VZ Aliens. I like em, but they are a bit on the harsh side.

It may just be too trendy, but a set of Nills would really sweeten that gun up. Doesn't meet the price range but you would be really proud of that gun.

...or Rocogrips for cheaper. I think they make em' for 1911s as well.

I have a pair of the original Simonich/Strider Gunner Grips. I hear the new ones are just as good.

I've also had the Davidson Snake Skin grips as well.

I have the VZ aliens on my Kimber, they are a bit on the rough side, but there is no denying that the firearm will not fall out of your hand no matter how sweaty it may be

I have Gators on several 1911's, Operators on a Kimber, and one set of slim's on my Novak HP.

Is that an actual photo of your 1911? Are the grips on it stock?

If so, what's wrong with them? Those look like they'd do the trick.

I have the slim versions of VZ Double Diamonds and Davidson Lizards. I prefer the VZ's simply because the Lizards are pretty aggressive, similar to my dislike of 20lpi frontstrap checkering. I'll throw some pix up later.

Beautiful GSR man! I'm in the process of getting the Nitron GSR right now. I personally always like the way the rosewood grips looked on the 1911.
