MKII or High Standard

Ok, so here's the deal. I want to start shooting in competitions, but not sure which to get. That's where you guys come in.

Here's the details:

MKII - Clark Custom bull barrel 5.5", clark grips, trigger work. - $675

HS - Supermatic with clark barrel 5.5" - $695


OR, would I be better off with just a stock MKII and customize it myself?
