Just FYI - Castro Valley has a nice Smith 28 with 6" barrel for $399.00. Has rubber grips but otherwise looks very good. And Imbert & Smithers has a 1950 for $1,175.00 - looks like new. I think that's a pretty good price?

$399 for a S&W model 28 in excellent condition is a very attractive price.
