Why are there so many slides for sale on the firearms parts and accessories forum? What are people doing with their guns so as to have slides to sell? Am I missing out on something? Just curious.

Easier and cheaper to buy an aftermarket slide then send yours off for custom work?

Because a frame cannot be DROS, buy a complete gun and sell what is not needed for whatever project.

I think it also has to do with more people putting red dots on their pistols. They are getting new slides with red dot cuts and then selling their old slide.

I remember buying a glock one time and the young guy behind the counter was so eager to offer to stipple it for me, for a fee of course.
