    Ar pistol, maglock, flash can?

Per title. One of my relatives finally got off his butt and decided to finish a pistol build. Waiting on the maglock, but he got a psa kit that has a flash can.
Gtg if maglocked? I've searched and get conflicting answers. Seems if it's maglocked then flash hider s and redirecters are ok?

If your relative used a receiver that was DROS'd as a "rifle", then the firearm, if configured with a less than 16" rifled barrel or a less than 26" overall length, will be an illegal SBR.

If your relative used a receiver that was DROS'd as a "pistol, single-shot", then the firearm must be configured as a dimensionally compliant single-shot pistol and must remain configured as such in order to remain CA legal.

If your relative used a receiver that was DROS'd as a "pistol, bolt-action", then the firearm should be configured as a bolt-action repeating pistol, but can also be modified to be a semi-auto pistol with a fixed 10 round magazine.

If your relative used a receiver that was DROS'd as a "pistol, semi-auto", then the firearm can be configured as a semi-auto pistol with a fixed 10 round magazine.

If your relative used a CA DOJ approved self-made receiver, then the firearm must be configured as a dimensionally compliant single-shot pistol and must remain configured as such in order to remain CA legal.

Dros was semi/pistol btw. Curious if the maglocked barrel is ok? Or nogo?

In order to be CA legal, a semi-auto AR style pistol must have a fixed 10 round magazine.

As long as it has a fixed 10 round magazine, it can legally have features that would be restricted on semi-auto pistols that do not have a fixed magazine.

Thank you for the answer. At times things can get a little grey in this state.
Told him he should get a adjustable block and just run it as a single shot, he looked at me strangley[emoji28].

I wouldn't blindly follow info on the interwebs.

Not saying info on this thread is incorrect, but if something happens later, I don't think the "_____ on CG said it was GTG" defense is going to work.
