I own both.
Each has it's advantages, so it comes down to intended use and personal preferences - do you need a carry pistol? Are you recoil sensitive? Do you have high caps for the 19?
If I had to choose one, it would be the 30.The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

I don't get what you're trying to do. What's wrong with recoil? First off, a 45ACP from a 1911 feels way lower in recoil than a 9mm from a G26. So, the choice of GUN is as important, if not more, than the round. Hell, my X-frame with .454 is easier shooting than some of my 9mm's.
Further, recoil can be managed by a competent shooter. It's just a matter of practice.
Are you trying to buy something for a specific person who's recoil nervous?
