How will the new microstamping laws affect PPTs? I may be posting in the wrong place, oh well.

Insert something clever here. -
as mentioned above, PPTs are exempt from the roster. Even so, the microstamping law won't be going into effect any time soon, if at all. It seems that some friendly legislators inserted code that stated that the microstamping technology had to be freely available to multiple manufacturers without any patent restrictions.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

So to reiterate.
1. Private Party Transferred handguns are exempt from the Roster requirements so you can avoid a microstamped gun.
2. Due to language in the law, microstamping is not likely to be implemented as a new requirement in California for at least 15 years and maybe never.
3. If we win the Pena case, the Roster goes away taking even the remote chance of a microstamping requirement with it.

YES!!! I was having a big problem with the microstamping being, at this time, a sole-source technology that just happens to be owned by a close friend of a CA lawmaker. I also understand that other states rejected the technology...and I know for a fact that UC Davis' Forensics Dept reported back to the CA Gvt that microstamping wasn't ready at this time for legislation (and our lawmakers, after spending our tax dollars for the study, tossed the results aside).
Really...let me look outside my window and make sure I'm still in CA.So to reiterate.
