    Roster Has Changed A Lot

I haven't been on CG for 3-4 years, so I am sure that this has been addressed, but I am amazed.

The list of decertified guns has to be way over 200 entries. I don't know the quantity of guns ON the list...

The list of newly certified guns has 2 entries.

Q: Is this due to manufacturers not re-upping on these entries ? Or is there another reason ?

    Just curious....

Mostly not re-upping, because they no longer manufacture that exact model, and new variants require microstamping, magazine disconnect and chamber-loaded indicator to get on the Roster.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

It's awful. Go to the Sportsman's Warehouse website and select "handguns" and they have 3,369 entries. Of those, only 325 are available for sale in California. Of those, 110 are revolvers.

But Kimber added 2 guns to the list.
Q: How did they get around microstamping ????

        Thanks...

They utilized an exemption that allows a qualified variation of an already on-Roster handgun to be listed. [PC 32030]

          Penal Code 32030
          (a) A firearm shall be deemed to satisfy the requirements of subdivision (a) of Section 32015 if another firearm made by the same manufacturer is already listed and the unlisted firearm differs from the listed firearm only in one or more of the following features:
          (1) Finish, including, but not limited to, bluing, chrome-plating, oiling, or engraving.
          (2) The material from which the grips are made.
          (3) The shape or texture of the grips, so long as the difference in grip shape or texture does not in any way alter the dimensions, material, linkage, or functioning of the magazine well, the barrel, the chamber, or any of the components of the firing mechanism of the firearm.
          (4) Any other purely cosmetic feature that does not in any way alter the dimensions, material, linkage, or functioning of the magazine well, the barrel, the chamber, or any of the components of the firing mechanism of the firearm.
          (b) Any manufacturer seeking to have a firearm listed under this section shall provide to the Department of Justice all of the following:
          (1) The model designation of the listed firearm.
          (2) The model designation of each firearm that the manufacturer seeks to have listed under this section.
          (3) A statement, under oath, that each unlisted firearm for which listing is sought differs from the listed firearm only in one or more of the ways identified in subdivision (a) and is in all other respects identical to the listed firearm.
          (c) The department may, in its discretion and at any time, require a manufacturer to provide to the department any model for which listing is sought under this section, to determine whether the model complies with the requirements of this section.

Tell Dad, mom, son and daughter to move out of California, but not to NY, NJ, MA, or any libtard state with stupid gunlaws similar to CA. I need to move out of this state.

Plenty CA roster and off roster guns on the MA roster. Glocks Gen 4 and 5, Sigs, HK, Colts, Walther, etc. MA also safety checks, but no micro stamping.

              I agree with you.

Better to leave them there, where they can't infect any other states and ruin them.

The citizens need to get up in arms and demand that all LE in CA use only safe handguns. The cops continual use of unsafe guns endangers the public.

The number of handguns removed from the roster pales in comparison to new models that are prohibited from being added. Cruise through any "new for 2021" or earlier gun magazine and note the many new models of pistols available to the rest of the country. They are all as a practical matter prohibited from conventional FFL sale in CA and have been so for several years.

It’s all part of a well designed scheme to skirt the 2A here in The PRC. By the way, good to have you back OrangeUSA.
