    Breaking in a Buckmark

I picked up my new Buckmark last week. Heading to the range tomorrow and I am going to take it for a spin. Any advice for breaking it in? I have some CCI Mini-Mag I plan on running through it. Thanks in advance for any other words of wisdom.

Buckmark + Minimags = range perfection!

Honestly, that’s all you need (well, maybe some targets, some eyes and ears)

Clean off any factory lube that may have thickened up, and apply a little oil.

Never noticed a break in for my Buckmarks , just loaded the mags and started shooting. Didn't even clean em. Did have the slide lock up on me once using federal in the blue box on my Micro but once I cleared it never happened again.

A little oil on the sliding parts as PoFoo mentioned. Be sure to check the front sight screw and the top rail screw. They like to loosen up after awhile. I have refrained from using Loctite on the top rail screw as that is removed to disassemble the slide and deep clean. I just snug them down every once in awhile.

I second adding oil before each range trip if it’s been sitting in your safe for a while. I recently took mine out after a 2 month layoff (it had been cleaned and put into the safe in November) and noticed that the slide failed to lock back after the last round in the magazine had been fired. A little oil and the problem was solved.

Make sure that the top strap screws are tight.
                Go shoot it, lots!

Congrats on the buckmark i love mine it tricks me into thinking im a crack pistol shot.
It also runs all the time even when filthy dirty.
It even seems to eat low quality ammo with very few malfunctions and with decent ammo its 100%

After an initial cleaning/oiling (or just CLP-ing) break in with minimags for a little extra oomph. After that you can feed it junk. I just went through a 525 box of winchester without much of a problem. It had a couple of hiccups halfway through but a spritz of CLP had it running fine. That was probably 1,000 rounds ago, no issues since. These things are more reliable than the .22 Glock made.

As most have already stated, initial clean off of factory grease, ensure all is tight and place some light lube / clp on and go have fun.

I really like mine and just upgraded the grips to 1911 grips and looks / feels great.

You are done, now just CHUT IT. (bring a small screwdriver, just in case you need to adjust the rear sight).
