Wrap sandpaper around a sharpie marker and go to town. You can start with a fairly rough grit to remove material and then switch to something finer to match the finish of the gun. In my experience, you don’t really need an “under”cut. The main issue is the relatively sharp corners. Just knock those corners down a bit and it will make a huge difference.my Benitez goes to 11Comment

This. It's the sharp edges, not that you need more space for the whole finger. Like I said before, grip the gun and then look at which part of the guard is contacting your finger. That's the only place that needs a little relief and rounding.Wrap sandpaper around a sharpie marker and go to town. If you're really worried, put some tape on whatever you're worried about scratching, then use the sharpie, or a dowel, or something a similar diameter, wrap sandpaper around and go... get it close with rougher grit (maybe 320 if you're not too sure about your skills?) use finer sandpaper until it matches the surrounding texture. It's not rocket surgery...Comment

I address plastic like working wood - coarse files or fine rasps to shape, followed by fine files or rasps to smooth, or sometimes scraping with a blade to remove the ridges, then final smoothing and finishing with increasingly finer grits of sandpaper starting with 120 and finishing with 400. If the plastic is black, I use black shoe wax (Kiwi) to darken the area and help matt the finish - other color plastics get a coating of Johnson's paste wax.
Slower than a Dremel, but less prone to sudden and unwanted goofs caused by an unskilled or unsteady hand.
Just cut and try to ergonomic satisfaction, then finish.
Round or 1/2 round files would work for undercutting the TG.Last edited by rmnc3r; 01-27-2021, 2:18 PM.Comment
