Im wondering, can a Ca model sig 226 have its slide exchanged for another non-ca slide? For example, could I put a different model 226 slide on my ca compliant 226 and should it run fine? Might be a dumb question but thank you for any answers.

Sig can do it, but it isn't cheap. I inquired about a cal compliant 229 a couple of years ago, and IIRC, it was around $500. However, since it looks like you are still in Kali, I'm not so sure they will do it even if you paid the price. -
I think you can change to a non-cal slide without an issue. You might want to change the barrel too. But you would have to purchase the slide from somewhere other than Sig.(another vender, or like e-bay or gunbroker)Comment

I just put a Sig optic cut slide on my CA P226, works just fineComment

Sig will sell X-change kits to CA. I bought a non-CA RX slide directly from them.Comment

Here is a good one to get. Once you go red dot you won’t want to go back

It can be done relatively easily. I’ve never done it myself but I’ve seen two potential issues; fitting your old barrel to the new slide and the ca compliant locking insert causing malfunctions with a new slide/barrel combination.Comment

New slides are all stainless. If you have a folded slide now I'm not sure the frame was designed to handle a stainless slide.Comment
