Holster for Mauser HSc

I have a post war Interarms Mauser HSc in .380 which I hope to use for my CC pistol once I get my permit in a couple of months.

The problem I'm having is finding a non military holster for it. I'm looking for a pocket holster or at this point any kind of carry holster but the internet hasn't produced any results. To further complicate matters it will need to be a left hand holster.

I think my only option at this point is to identify another handgun with a similar shape and try that. Any opinions on what might be close enough to work?

Find a saddle maker. Ours in Texas and up the street here in Idaho do beautiful custom work that fits you and the gun perfectly.

I'd also send an email to empirearms.com and see if Dennis Kroh, the owner, might have one.

I found a German reference that said a SIG P230 is the closest to the Mauser pistol. I'm going to give it a try.

Good luck. Hope it works out for ya. If it doesn't I too would suggest a custom leather worker. They are all over the place and a saddle maker is a good place to start. Someone that you can take the gun too and they can build the holster around the gun. It doesn't take long and you wouldn't even have to leave the gun with them. Just need it to mark stitching lines and then once stitched to wet mold the holster. Less than an hour really. Once the holster has dried and been finished fit could be checked when you pick it up. Of course with this route a left handed holster is simply not an issue, just turn your pattern over.

I do make a lot of holsters and have for some unique, uncommon firearms. To get the fit right you need the gun or a good molding prop (Bluegun etc). Just out of curiosity I checked for molding props for your Mauser with five different manufactures and didn't come up with one. I also checked pics of your Mauser side to side with a Sig 230 and there are enough differences that I wouldn't build ya a holster, for your gun using the Sig prop. It really only takes about a 1mm of difference for good fit to be a bad fit.

Now thats not saying the fit will be bad on a Sig holster, I don't know, but I'd suggest that you try it in person if you can and not order online.
