Your scenario could include a loan of a handgun from a 3rd-party, which is legal as long as the recipients has a Handgun Safety Certificate.

And iif it belonged to the 21 year old, depending on when the transfer happened, it may not be prosecutable anyways, since the SOL is 3 years for that violation.
Ok cool, so If I have an unregistered hand gun and Ive had it for "3 years" they cant charge you with anything? thats kinda funny lol,

So I wouldnt need any documentation for taking a freinds/family/ etc. etc. gun, as long as I have a HSC?

well thats the way SOL works.

Correct, there is no PC requirement that you have a loan documented, except for some loans to minors.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Alright that clarifies what I needed to know. And like I said, the only reason that I wanted to register some of them is so that I can sell them. I am keeping all the nice ones...like my broom handle mauser, 686, and my 1911. So, im not too worried about registering those. Thanks again for the replies.

Dude, for the headache it's not worth, just keep'em. That whole collection should mean something to you even if you don't ever plan on shooting them.

My dad handed me down his first ever .22lr winchester rifle that he bought in 1976. I know I will never shoot it, but I will see to it that my son gets it in the same 'like new' shape I got it in.
