Slimline Glocks

Which of the so called Slimline 9mm Glocks make most sense to You ? I tried them all ( 43,43X and 48) . To me G43 is most useful . Mainly as a back up or for deep concealment. Off duty , I never see a reason to carry anything smaller than a Glock 19.

I don't like carrying anything smaller than a Glock 19. I do not have a license to carry permit because they are not available where I live. However having fired many different sizes of Glock, the one that is most comfortable in my hand is the 19. Therefore it would be the most natural for me to grip and shoot under duress.

If comparing Glock 19 to the singlestack glocks, then yeah I kind of agree. It doesn't make sense (to me) to carry a singlestack glock with such a limited capacity when there are other 9mm guns comparable in size with greater mag capacities. Unless of course you're using the 15rd Shield Arms mags. Then my vote would go to Glock 48 which essentially becomes a thinner and lighter Glock 19.

Keep in mind I have no meaningful experience with these guns and probably never will so long as I remain in CA.

For some, even me, the Glock 19 is rather bulky. I mostly carry it for winter carry. My go-to is usually the 26.

I can see the 43X/48 being desirable if using the Shield mags. However, the P365 would be ideal in terms of capacity, size, and concealability than any of the current stock Glocks.

I've got both, and then some, and agree with the OP.

Although I've got holsters for the G43, I seldom, maybe never, carry it alone. I could; I've just not found the right occasion, I suppose.

I originally bought my G43 to replace my S&W 642 revolver as my backup gun; carried either on my ankle or in a body-armor holster.

I mostly carry my G19Gen5, even though I've also got a G17Gen5 and a G26gen3. When I'm in a nostalgic mood, I'll carry an old .40, my G23gen3.

With all these Glocks already-owned, I never bought into (at least not yet) a G43X or G48.

For me....

Used to be a G19 for capacity.

I also have an XDs for a smaller carry package.

But recently, a G43x is my new go-to.... and the amend2 mags will be a welcome addition.

Never got to fondle anything other than the G43, which I really liked - but I’m not sure the trade off in size between the G43x and the G26 is worth it? I mean, the G43x uses specific magazines, parts and so on - the G26 is capable of using the entire series of Glock 9mm magazines and almost all the parts are interchangeable with the G17/19/34

I like my G43. For me it’s the perfect size to carry. I’ve carried the XDs and the G19 but always go back to the G43.

I’m 5’9” 175lbs and for me, the Glock 43 tucks away much more easily than my 19 or 30s. I use +1 pads on the 43, carry a second magazine on me and have extras in the truck. Not overly concerned about the limited capacity.

None of them make sense to me. For a few people with smaller hands, and in a deep concealment role, they probably make sense. But from a general carry perspective, the width of the gun isn't what most people have a problem concealing. And the difference in width in particular compared to a regular sized Glock is very minimal IMO...and it's not a great enough benefit to me to justify the reduced capacity that goes along with them. YMMV.

I have all kinds of Glock for a very long time... Glock 48 is a different kind of Glock it feels perfect in my hand for some reason. It feels like a m$p shield shield but shoots like a Glock 17.
