    New Springfield 1911 TRP

I've been looking for a PC9107LCA18 for quite some time now, and of course it's not available anywhere. In addition to a bunch of retailers near me, I looked online (palmetto, buds, etc), and talked to a couple FFLs over the phone - and, while some can and will back-order it for me, no-one can commit to a delivery date. I searched online, as well as reached out to Springfield directly to get a sense of the backlog - but could not find any information, and Springfield won't say anything.

Other than waiting for the Biden presidency to run its course , how can I get one in the Bay Area ?

Online, Locked and Loaded, Tombstone Tactical, Osage County Guns, Gun Broker, Buds Gun Shop, Sportsmans Warehouse, Gunzone deals etc..

Gun.deals. There are thousands of websites you’ll have to sift through in order to get one. You may get lucky and find one immediately or have to wait. I know this because I was searching for a PC9105MLCA (i think) MC Operator for some time. I placed two orders that were back orders. After speaking with the distributors and springfield, I learned that a back order isn’t at all guarantee that they will get the product, and fulfill your order. They seem to be in place to be sure that you will get one if they happen to get them.

It seems like everybody and their mother are looking for this. You'd think someone would want to make a buck selling it for 50% over MSRP, but no - it's not available at any price.
Guess I'll wait and keep looking.

You’d spend 50% over MSRP? So you’d spend $2250 on this gun? I’m sure you can bid on gun broker and get one for that.

Based on your post count I’m assuming you don’t have much experience with buying guns. At least not this type of experience. Shopping for something that is hard to come by. Just like the person above posted, they are around. I’m not sure what you were looking to do in this post? Did you start a list of all the websites you’d need to reference? It’ll take hours of work if you really want to get one. You just can’t stop.

This is interesting since this one has been on my wishlist for a while as well.

I went to my go to FFL first as well and asked if they could order but their distributer had no indication of when they would receive any stock.

So I was able to order directly through Springfield through their NRA Instructor Program (you must be on file as an NRA instructor to qualify). I ordered online Nov 11. Got an email back about a week later saying that the order was approved and to call them to give them payment info.

I called them with my CC info and asked when it might be shipping - she said there wasn't any stock at the moment and that it might be up to 4 months before it ships. I figured I could live with that and set out to wait. To my surprised it shipped two weeks later and was received by my FFL on Dec 2.

So as others have said. They are out there. May have to find a creative way to flush one out.
Stop calling them Lawmakers. It only encourages them.

Good taste, they seem to put these out less than the fugly operator one.

OP, unless you really have to have the pistol right now, it would be good to wait up a little until things starts picking up. I would like to be able to get a few 1911s and another shotgun to add to my stable, but I have to wait until all the craziness subsides......if ever.

With 7M new gun owners joining us this year, gonna have to wait a while for TRP supply to catch up with all these new owners who grabbed what ever they could come this year but once things start to settle they'll have been itching for a 1911 for quite some time

                          Ugly?.....maybe.
Unreliable as it comes from the factory?......more likely.

but isn't the unreliable part all 1911's?

I'll spend a couple more months trying to find it at MSRP, but if I can't, then sure, I'd pay more. I looked on GunBroker - I couldn't find this specific one there.

I think this is what I was looking for - the fact that spending hours upon hours for months, to find something specific, is expected and not unusual, and it's not just me being stupid.

                              Thanks!
