I've been shopping for one for months now. I may break down and buy one of the Ubertis. They do a silly as hell 18" one that I kind of want just for S&G. But a 12"er in 45 Colt and case hardened is what I want.
A real Colt would be best, but...Comment

It's at that fort from F-Troop, Fort Courage.
All is well Mark, been cooped up and haven't had anything interesting
to write about. Went to pick up some ammo and and snapped a picture (with permisssion) of that long barreled revolver.
What's up with the new moniker? At first glance, I thought someone stole your avatar.

Thank you for thinking of me.
Bob was kind enough to send me a pic of that....it is nice, and would be a good companion to our other Colt SSA.
However, I have some other gun projects lining up, enough to keep me busy for some time.Comment

More of a fad item, due to the TV series "The life and legend of Wyatt Earp". The TV Wyatt Earp carried, of course, a Colt Buntline. The show was on from 1955 to 1961, so most of the people reading this, were born decades after this Western.
I can't remember seeing one episode, not that I ever really cared for Westerns. All fake bad guys, and the good guys were too good.
Amazing that anyone would pay $2000 for a super long barreled Colt with over sized chamber mouths. These were not, and never were, practical in any sense of the word. But then, the boomers are a rich generation, and as they are teetering on the edge of their graves, ready to fall in, they will burn cash to buy the toys they could not afford as a kid.
If I had a dumpster full of Boomer toys from the 1950's, I could have made a fortune selling them.Comment
