Taurus 669 revolver feedback needed.

Ok from what ive heard depends on price, you should go with S&W or ruger because of there warranty,and if you want a .357 magnum, if you want a great .357sig get a glock

I have heard good and bad things about Taurus revolvers in general. After seeing the revolvers for a cheaper price i.e. $350 or $400 vs. $500-$600 for a s&w I went with s&w. I know there are problems here and there with s&w but not as much as Taurus. Yes I know you can be lucky and get one that is perfectly fine and will last forever but there are just too many experiences of people having bad ones for my taste. I rather just spend the extra money and not have to worry about it breaking on me.

Oh and the repair policy is great but I have heard of people sending their taurus in and having to wait at least a month or two to have it fixed. Sometimes it doesn't fix the problem so they have to send it back again. Just my .02 cents from what I read.

My roomate had a Taurus in NV they have a lifetime waranty. Just what I heard too i guess.

Bummer. I love my Taurus and wouldn't have any problem buying another. It's a bummer if it's your ONLY gun and you have to send it in, but that's why it's best to have others to use.

I have a few S & W and love them, but I also got a nice Taurus .38 snubnose and love it.
I works great, is very accurate, and a joy to shoot. I have several friends with Taurus that love them also.

Is the S & W handguns I own better? Maybe.
Is the Taurus a good gun? So far, no problems and I shoot it a lot.
Which guns do I take to the range? Usually one of the S & W handguns and the Taurus.

I have several Taurus revolvers; they were all purchased more than 15 years ago and I have no idea what the quality is like for newer ones. Mine are great firearms for the price. Compared to my Smiths and what I paid for them (again, I bought all mine back in the day way before the recent "newb" panic buying situation) the Taurus revolvers are excellent values.

I had a Taurus 689, basically a 669 with vented rib. It was the best damn revolver I've ever owned or shot.
