    1911 barrel lug cutting

i'm trying to fit a new barrel in my 1911 and can't find the brownells barrel lug fitting kit. Brownells seems to be back ordered. Is there any way i could use a drill press and then file the rest down by hand?

In my opinion, you would not have a happy ending.
Depends on the cost of the barrel, and you are ok with the expense of it as a learning experience, then try it. I've never heard of using a drill press for that. There are creative people in the world, maybe you have a plan that will work!
    Good luck!
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

It looks like the barrel lug cutters and the individual parts remain in stock albeit not in a kit form.
