XD 40 trigger pin coming out

No expert on XD but looks like trigger pin is just held in place by spring and groove.
Just push it back in place?
Bent spring or bad groove?
Maybe someone who installed a Powder River Precision trigger can chime in.

If you dry fire a LOT than maybe send a new roll pin.
Not sure if the new XDs still have a split/pin

I’m going to ask for a new trigger and roll pin. This should not be happening with a new gun with 235 rounds through it. Should I ask them to replace all the pins in the frame?

The one I mentioned was a failure point on older XDs that had a lot of dry fire with no snap caps.
As you can see in illustration that pin gets hit when nothing is in chamber.

Springfield Armory most likely will not replace anything that has not failed or is compromised.

The Powder River Precision roll pin is a "upgrade" part since you are sending it in for repair.
You did not inspect for why the trigger pin was coming out.
I came to the conclusion that you are uncomfortable with disassembly/repair.

The XD's trigger pin is supposed to have a "detent", which is a small-wire circlip on the pin's right side. I suspect this circlip is either missing, damaged, or not quite installed exactly right. There could also be a problem with the trigger/locking block pin.

FYI, Having dealt with Springfield-Armory's service in the past, S-A will likely list what parts were replaced, but not say why the parts were replaced

Was this a used or new gun? I have shot over 5000 rds in mine including reloads and have had no issues. I have not seen this or heard of this from any XD owner I know. sorry, hope it gets resolved.

If the spring is good than just flipping trigger pin to use other side groove could be the fix.
Push it out with same diameter rod/punch leave in.
Flip trigger pin.
Use trigger pin to push out rod/punch.

Never like to mail firearms.

OPs comfort level, once you question reliability it is useless.

It’s a new gun, I’ve bought other guns during the pandemic that caused me problems. I can follow recommendations to fix it myself anc it looks simple. I’d rather have Springfield fix it under warranty since it is new. I don’t like being down to one revolver during a pandemic.
