    double check Ca handgun laws

So im turning 21 next tuesday. and i want to go and buy a handgun finally.

Now i read the frequently asked questions on the attorney generals website and it said you have to take the HSC test. now i know i can take it at local turners, but that is all i need. no other safety courses or etc?

i just hope i can find a decent priced 1911.

If you read the HSC study guide on the attorney generals website you will pass the HSC test AND be able to perform the safe handling demonstration.

Also, I suggest a training course for your first handgun.

or take combat marines to the desert and have them teach you how to clear rooms. Being able to stand still and hit something is one thing. but able to move and keep on target is much more challenging.

Im not worried about being able to operate them. i have put a few thousand rounds down Misc pistols,1911, usp, high power, FN SFS, XD, and some misc sing action cowboy shoters. i just havent bought one legally because im not 21.

I don't know if you've implied this, but learning the safety rules and how
to operate firearms safely is more important than learning how to
              shoot.
