Problematic ammo in the G20

I have a stock G20, so far I have had no problems with any ammo. Tried Fiochi 180gr FMJ, LAX 180FMJ, Armscor 180gr FMJ, Underwood Extreme Penetrators,
Underwood 165gr bonded HP.
Any ammo give your G20 problems?

How about trying some regular old Winchester or Federal? What exactly is your problem---what failure to function are you having?

No issues here.

G40, G29, and G20 run well.


LAX ammo surprised me the most running at 1300FPS. I did pick up a box of Federal that I need to run through, I expect it to be on the light side.

I have a G29 and have used the Underwood 200 gr and 220 gr hardcast with no issues.

Aguila, S&B, Blazer Brass and Aluminum, Hornady all have been perfect. Also Blazer Brass, Aluminum and Federal Champion loads in .40 cycled just fine.

Thanks for the comments, I feel confident I can say that the stock Glocks are immune to problematic ammo.

When I run my G20 with my KKM barrel, my Buffalo Bore ammo does not always go into battery. I attribute this to a tighter chamber than the stock barrel. Other ammo, including my own reloads, does not present a problem.

I still need to try the Buffalo Bore in another aftermarket barrel, as well as my G29. I don’t blame the ammo or the gun - it is what it is. This is just another data point to promote the need to try your ammo in your gun before your life depends on it.

I've ran every grain of ammo Underwood makes in 10mm never a problem. If your looking at Bullets for griz country..
I would carry the Underwood extreme Penetrators , I carry he Penetrators in my G29 and G20 as backwoods boat gun .When one needs penetration a round that will punch 2 Inches of Bullet proof glass and retain 100 percent of its weight while looking like the slug could be reloaded. Sounds like a great round to me no matter what your shooting at.

Got a G20 and a G29 OP, never a problem and I feed all sorts of junk ammo and premium ammo. Shooting full power loads with the G29 and no mag extension, kinda violent.

The smaller the caliber, the more likely you'll have ammo issues. Not a perfect correlation, but pretty good.
