    I'm on search for a Cz 97B. I have cz P01
and like it so much.Cz 97 B gets a lot of praise here. If I can find one definitely I'd buy it.

I have the P220 and other Sigs. The 220 doesn't get much range time, sadly. My wife's CZ97b SA is one of her favorites, in comparison.

love my 97b w/ LOK thin bogi grips. Very accurate out of the box.
my buddy has the 220 combat, great gun, fits better than stock wood grips and looks awesome. but I think the stock CZ trigger is better than stock combat 220 trigger while in single action mode. In DA, the Sig wins.

discount gun mart by Sea World had a 97b in stock the other night when I went to the range. think $750 is what they list on their web site. They also have Sp01 but at $900 + state fees.

First I'd say try each one out first even if it's just holding it. Some times just holding a gun will tell you if your going to like it. Next I'll say CZ 97 because I didn't like the way the Sig I rented felt in my hand and just didn't shoot well with it. Last I will say after shooting the 97 a little bit get the Pro Package and enjoy. After I put the Pro package in my 97 it is a much better and more enjoyable shooter. I do want to get the barrel bushing done to it also.

Both are good pieces. Depending on the size of your hands, the CZ97 may be large with a longer reach to the trigger. The Sig 220 feel of the grip is much different than the CZ. Both are really good shooters. I found the sights on the CZ to be too low of a profile for me. You can do lots of aftermarket upgrades to the CZ. The Sig really does not require much but it is all a matter of taste. Can't go wrong with either.

I'd give the edge to the P220. The SRT upgrade is inexpensive and easy to do at home. You can probably make the CZ nicer, but that involves a trip to a custom shop or purchasing a bag of parts and doing it yourself.

When people reference sending their CZ to CGW, how does one go about that?

I found the P220's grip to be too thin for me, other than that the gun runs perfect(police trade in no idea of round count). The CZ97B I had the grips was a bit too big, and there was a weird feeding issue with JHP and flat nose FMJ. CZ said they could fix it but I decided to sell it at a loss instead, ended up selling the P220 as well because I thought I'd rather shoot 1911s and USP45.

Now I sold all of my 1911s because for 45ACP I simply prefer USPs. Looking for an Expert in the Central Valley if anyone see one laying around in a shop.
People have different preference best thing you can do is to go out and rent them.

I have a P220 that I really like, the only thing that I don't like is the round capacity
I also have a couple of 97B that I really like, I'm planning on converting one of the 97B to 10mm
You can't go wrong with these two pistols

I had a 97b and didn't like it/sold it... it felt too big in the hand & too tall, didn't like the sight picture on it either - full disclosure, I am a huge CZ fan and have 4 other CZ 9mm pistols and 1 rifle.

I still have my P220, while there have been numerous times that i have wanted to sell that one too the last time I pulled it out of the safe the damn thing just felt right in the hand... so I guess I'm keeping it for now

for what it is worth... if you want a 45 why not just get a 1911 and be done with it

Bought CZ 97B new, bought Sig P220 surplus , so favor more on CZ 97B. But since the day I bring home the 1911 Les Baer Premier II, the CZ 97B and Sig P220 become safe queen.
Instead of buy two (97B & P220) you can buy one Les Baer PII and forget the other two.

To use a sports analogy: The best ability is availability. Get the CZ now. When your budget allows, get the P220. Who knows, you may never go back to Sig, or might not be a CZ guy. CZ's tend to be "resellable". Good luck with your search.
