There are similarities to each. The new model Python has a rebound lever and the same 2 stage hand set up as the original. It uses a V type mainspring as the Python, MK Trooper uses a coil. The hammer is internally more Python than MK Trooper. The cylinder bolt is similar to the MK Trooper, not the same though. Using a transfer bar like the MK Trooper, the old model Python hammer block is gone.

Not sure where that breaks down percentage wise e "MK vs Python". Whatever the action resembles internally, it feels much more like old model Python than MK type.

Oooh! That looks great and I even dig the new grips. I don’t know how you can not shoot that thing ASAP. Thank you for posting the pics! I am so glad Colt is making these again.

That is without a doubt the best looking new revolver for sale in America right now.

A 2 and 1/2 inch or 3 inch version would be sweet.

I was at Bud's guns today, they have a 4.25" in stock for $1,599 but I too do not like the laminated grips they call "walnut".

                          Still thinking about it.

The main difference between these and factory original is quality - as in, they're so much better.
