Has anyone tried Cerakoting the E2 grips? The texturing is so fine and shallow, I wonder if it'd become too slick once coated. Wish there were aftermarket AND aluminum options in this more ergonomic profile.

Sig E2 grip and Cerakote

Have you looked at them? side-by-side with the classic/standard Sig grips? The profile is the same. The E2 has a different profile, more like CZ's 75 series grip profile.Comment

I own both and although the profiles are different, there doesn’t seem to be a significant difference in terms of reach with both grips. Never liked the grip material on the E2’s and they just don’t look good, IMO. But as far as your question, I can see where cerakote can create a raised finish and possibly alter the E2 grips original footprint. Guess you won’t know until you try.
To each his own. E2 feels great to me while Hogue and Sig classic feel awkward. Footprint isn't the issue. Cerakote applies very thin. 0.001" to be exact. The concern is filling the fine texture Sig has given it, reducing traction.Comment
