Those 2FFL’s don’t know what the heck they’re talking about.
Find one that knows what they’re doing.Originally posted by Kestryll:

My 90-yr. old mom purchased and picked up a Shadow 2 in her hometown (Las Vegas) FFL, took it home, and shipped via ShipMyGun FedEx to my Orange County FFL with the family gift transfer note.
No problem.

No idea what they are talking about. Can ship directly to you with a letter explaining the giftComment

False. Federal law requires that an inbound FFL accept the firearm and transfer to you since dad is a resident of a different state. The FFL is ignoring the interstate part.
The intrafamilial paperwork only applies to in-state vertical lineage.Comment

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

I just went through the process. We are waiting for 10 days.
Your father can send it to a FFL that knows how to do the transfer. Few are listed in the following thread. I am not sure where you live, but if you live close by OC, I can recommend you one, just PM me.
Read this [Link] on what you need from a FFL and you can use the template on that page. Also, below is the thread I started a week ago. It's an ez process if the FFL here knows how to do it.

I ran into multiple FFL’s giving out similar false info. Do not try to enter the state with an off roster gun that is not legally yours. Consult librarian if you have further questions, but you can have your Dad ship it. He doesn’t need to ship it through an FFL, but it does need to go to an FFL. A copy of his DL is a must. A letter of intent, a gift letter would be wise as well. The intrafamilial form I believe is filled out by you. Double check with librarian on that.Last edited by Mr. Blue; 09-18-2020, 10:38 PM.Comment
