Under CA laws, it is an off-Roster handgun that is considered an assault weapon.

If I have it mod to have Maglock before bring it in to California would that work?

Only if you are roster exempt. Even if maglocked to avoid the AW status, it's still an off-roster handgun. If you're after the ability to use sig 320 mags, stern defense makes a magwell adapter that would allow you to use those mags in a generic AR pistol lower that would be easier to find. the cmmg upper could be bought separately as well. Just an idea.

So it is essentially a Banshee that takes Sig P320 magazines.

It might be tough to find a magazine lock for that mag release.
