My Next Glock

I'm buying my daughter and SIL new guns as wedding presents. I figured that was better than a toaster or a blender.
He immediately wanted a SA 1911 Range Officer Compact in .45 ACP. He owns several firearms but no 1911s yet and he really likes the size of my Kimber Pro Carry II.
Since she likes the feel of my Glock 22 I suggested she look at a Glock 19 because she already owns one 9mm pistol. Then my SIL showed her an M&P Shield online and she liked the looks of it so now she can't decide which one to order. He is LE (I guess they like M&P Shields) and even though he likes my Glocks he's still recommending the Shield.Comment

I don't know, maybe it's an LEO thing. He carries a Shield and so do two of his deputy friends that I've met. I was recently at Turner's and I got into a conversation with a nice young lady who was just out of the academy and she was there to pick up a Shield.
I had originally suggested a Glock 19 because she likes my G22 but I don't think she's made up her mind yet.
I own S&W revolvers but I've never owned one of their pistols.

John Wick has multiples of the same weapon. But hey.. its a Glock, they are all the same...throw a dart at a list on the wall..."Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue." ----Sen. Barry Goldwater

I've found very little difference between carrying a G19 vs the G26.
If I were you I'd get a standard G26 and a Taran Tactical G34.
Many issuing agencies will not permit modified guns like the TT G26 on your permit. It's not as safe for SD/HD with such a light trigger.
The Taran Tactical guns excel at competition. So that's why I recommend a TT G34. The G34 is a competition gun. Having a tricked out G34 by TT is cool beans."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill

It's my understanding that the 10mm doesn't perform to it's power potential in a short barrel, so...G20 for me.Comment

The Shield is a good gun in my experience, and I love Glocks.
Cops don't have to get a safety or CA LCI model. They can take their pick.
When Glock didn't have a single stack 9mm there was the Shield. Fit and finish is great and the trigger is fine stock. I'd sooner change a Glock's stock trigger.
Coming from someone who would buy a Glock or CZ or Canik or Walther or H&K over a S&W.
I chose a Shield over a G26, but got a G26 too the same year IIRC.Comment

I have a G20 and two XDs. Why would I need another Glock?
Well...I dunno... if a 6" long slide 10mm presented itself...
