    Refresh my memory (ammo)

hey guys, I haven't purchased ammo in about 6 years but i recently purchased a Sig p365, how much was ammo before these current prices? seems like the going rate starts at 50cents a round for 115g and creeps up but i will only be buying 115g and 124g. and lastly how do I buy ammo from someone? do we both have to go the ammo store and what kind of fees am i looking at ?

Before COVID, riots, etc... 9mm was going for about $9 to $11 for a box of 50 rounds. As far as buying from a private party most gun shops offer that service for free other than the $1 state extortion money.

115 grain was 17-22 cents per round, 124 was 20-24 cents per round. Hst hallow points around 50 cents per round. Meet at ffl about 5 dollar fee for transfer sometimes less depending on ffl.

-16 cents per round or less.
        - call your lgs and ask if they do ammo transfer.
        - both present at the lgs for transer.
        - fees varys.

That was a pretty low price, it was typically closer to 20 cents online, who knows in a store.

Well 6 years ago things were very different. Pre-covid the average price was around 20cents a round for brass FMJ. 115g. There were better deals than this but that was the average. I see a lot of Reman for sale at around 40cents, so just be careful who you’re buying from. It would suck to get a few thousand rounds and have them be off. In order to purchase ammo you must do a background check. I think its $19 initially, and then $1 there after. Just be sure that you have the CA Real ID. Or in addition to a federal limits apply ID, a passport or birth certificate. Benitez overturned the CA Backashwards ammo laws few months back, but the 9th overruled that within hours. I found 9mm at sportsmans warehouse for 25cents a round and at big 5 for 30cents a round. A total of only 10 boxes over the course of 3 days tho. There are limits.
