Zev striker break

I had a weird thing happen with my glock today while dry firing. Gun felt weird after a trigger press. I took it apart and low and behold the striker was broken. Somehow the actual striker part sheared off (see pic attached). I have a rmr slide from Zev with all zev internals. Hasn’t seen too many round max a few thousand. Mainly a dry fire gun. I do dry fire regularly and always use a snap cap. What do you guys think, is this just a freak thing or am I doing something wrong? Firing pins are apparently more expensive than I thought. I would rather not make this a habit.

It could be the firing pin slot in the slide is not centered with the firing pin channel. Lone Wolf slides are known for having that problem.

Look down the back of the slide with the striker removed and see if the slot looks centered.

Or if there is any play in the slot for the striker foot such that the striker can rotate, then it isn't going through the slot in the breech face without stress or worse.

Lots of ways that aftermarket tolerances can bite you.

I’ll take a look thanks for the reply. I ordered an oem replacement still would rather not have this one break too
