    Frame only DROS

I am buying a Glock and only need the Frame. I intend to sell the upper. Should I ask for the DROS to be done on the frame only? What is the difference between frame only and entire gun? Thanks in advance.

They won't do that for you, you have to do the entire gun and then what you do with the slide after is up to you. Frame only is not on roster. The gun will sit for 10 days in the FFL's safe and then when he gives it to you you can take the slide off and sell it or whatever

Thank you for the reply. I should have mentioned that it would be a ppt so roster would not matter from what I understand.

Yes that makes all the difference. But I still would never DROS just the frame if I had the choice. By DROSing a complete gun, there is no question that you did not manufacture an 'unsafe' handgun later.

You make a good point. What is considered and unsafe handgun? I expect it is quite common to do a build on a Glock frame.

So if I buy a gun via ppt and then replace the entire upper, it is considered safe? The reason for all the questions is I am doing my first build. Nothing extraordinary, just using everything Zev for upper.

More discussion here. Pistol frame only in PPT you are GTG, as mentioned above.
