My guess would be no. Unless you want to be the test case.

FS: Atlas Bipod, Custom G23 RMR slide, ETS mags, Jagerwerks, Recover G26/27, CZ Scorpion bits, etc.

A Semi-Auto pistol with a mag well outside the grip needs to be fixed mag, regardless of any "features."

There is no law prohibiting braces, whether folding or otherwise. A brace is not designed or meant to be shouldered. It is meant to be shot with one hand, with the brace attached to the forearm. This is recognized by the ATF. The length of pull of the brace in its maximally extended position should be less than 13.5 inches, as that would provide additional evidence it is not meant to be shouldered, as recognized by the ATF.

While California is not bound to ATFs interpretation that braced Firearms aren't meant to be shouldered, the ATF's position would be strong evidence of the same. To my knowledge, there has never been an SBR prosecution in California for an otherwise legal, braced pistol. Countless people openly possess braced AR pistols in the state, take them to the range, talk about them on social media, etc. I believe I've seen them sold in stores (to LEOs).

In fact, when Bakofarmer was arrested and initially charged with SBR possession, among other charges, for having a Shockwave on a pistol, DOJ recognized this and dropped the SBR charge. From my analysis of the court documents (provost is the doj agent):
"12. They then found 10-inch AR pistol. They initially believed it was an SBR and he was in fact booked for an SBR. But Provost later realized that because the stock was made by Shockwave Technology and designed as a pistol stabilizer, this was not an SBR. However, since it had a standard mag release, it was still an assault pistol."

In case it wasn't obvious, nothing I write here should be interpreted as legal advice.

What if you had a shockwave or SB tactical brace but had a folding stock tube adapter that allowed the brace to be folded?

        Something like this https://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...prod71553.aspx

I don't know why not. before pistol braces became main stream many ak pistols had nothing. The common way thi shot them was with a sling and pushing it out forward and locking out your joints to give yourself stability.
Just a libertarian guy in a Leftist Authoritarian state.
