I learned something new. I’d never seen a stippled metal or alloy frame before
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Your local skateboard shop will probably give you a small amount. And, it comes in colors too. I did not mention firearms to them.

Ehh... Just get out your dremel and a #8 round burr and make a nice golfball textured front strap... Color it in with any sharpie that looks good contrasting with the green.. Maybe orange to start ??..😘😘
          Cheers..

I may stipple it myself, as the grips can cover up any issues. The post above me, color in with orange sharpie? As a way to refinish? I can’t tell if he’s trolling me or not. Lol. Then the blown kisses?! He must be trolling. Haha.

That is a classic piece you have there. Do not Bubba it up. Buy a good pair of shooting gloves.

I second skateboard grip tape. I have it on all my 1911’s that don’t have front strap checkering.
I’m not a fan of the wrap around grips as they change the grip feel on the gun (adding thickness)
The grip tape actually feels better to me than most checkering.

This isn't quite an "outside-the-box" thinking suggestion, as I've done this before. Cut an appropriate length (~2") of 1" wide traction tape and stick it onto the front strap.

It may not be as stylish, but I've actually liked the feel just as much if not better than checkering on my 1911 guns. If you don't like it, it's entirely removable and you can go back to "Plan A".

Note: I just linked what I could find on HomeDepot's website. I'd previously found tape from "3M" years ago at a local hardware store.
I have this solution on my P220 Carry and My CZ75B, it works great and doesn't mess up the resale value.

The sharpie is eraceable with alittle Rem oil.. Find a color you like then Ceracote your front strap... Contrasting colors look kewl..
                    Cheers...

If you realy like a 1911 with front strap ckeckering, buy a 1911 that has factory checkering.

I've stippled 1911 frames before, and it works fine if you don't mind the look. You're still going to have to refinish the frame though, the punch is going to destroy the finish on the front strap and expose raw metal.

Wilson Combat used to sell these a long time ago. They don't really feel like checkering if that's what you're looking for. Waste of money if you ask me. In a parts bin someplace if I haven't tossed it.

Skateboard tape is better, but if you want checkering, get checkering. Like Ojisan I checker my own frames. I don't like the "Tiger Tooth" stippling. Too aggressive. Machine cut 20 lpi is too aggressive for me. Machine cut 30 is great. I hand checkered 30 lpi one time. That was a bear. 25 lpi was much easier, especially on my eyes.

If your pistol was blue, you might get away with cold blue touch-up. Cerrakote, forget it. You'll need to redo the entire frame.

I sent my ss 1911 off to clark custom guns to get front strap checkering. I’m going to keep the pachmayer grips on the mco. Thanks everyone for your input. Always appreciate it.
