    Upgraded my Dan Wesson PM7

    Hi Folks,
Love my Dan Wesson PM7, however there are a couple places not strictly to my likings, so I tried to upgrade it a bit recently with my amateur hands:
    * filed 30lpi front strap checkering with brownell's checkering files
    * fitted wilson combat trigger. Original trigger is great, when gun pointed forward, it has no left-right horizontal movement, but there is a lot of up-down vertical movement. fitted the new trigger with layout dye and file/stone and eliminated all horizontal/vertical movement.
    * swapped full length guide rod with GI style, so I can field strip by removing the slide stop pin first. this way it helps maintain the tight fit of the barrel.
    * fitted Bar sto match fit barrel. specifically first fitting the 2 sides of the barrel hood, then mating the big flat side of the barrel hood with breech face with layout dye to ensure full surface engagement. Then use brownell's underlug cutter to cut the underlug, and fitted wilson combat #5 barrel link by removing metal the interferes with slide stop movement. It seems both Bar-sto I fitted in the past all uses #5 links. headspace is correct and I don't need to ream the chamber in both cases.

Overall I am very happy with the outcome. When the market settles I would like to get a Springfield 9mm and try fitting a ramped bull barrel, or a Schuemann AET barrel, or a 2011 frame to do an amateur build.

Nice! For what it is and what it cost I really think the PM-7 should come with front strap checkering from the factory.

    You did a nice job!
