I put down a deposit at Turners in February. I think I will be lucky to get it by the end of the year. BTW I saw at the Carol Watson auction this weekend a Glock 19 3rd Gen sold for $1000 plus 18% buyers premium. Makes a $1449 Colt Python seem like a bargain.

I put my money down at Turners in January, hope I get a call soon. Checked awhile back and a lot of guys pulled their money,so I hope I’m closer to the top of the list. Mine with tax( but NO DROS fee ) is $1562.

Is it worth the money??? Or is it just a Colt? Should it cost more than a Colt rifle?

There's been rumors that the Colt Royal Blue 1911 Classic is the test-run for Colt bluing guns again, and there might be a blued version of the Python released early next year.

What has this re-issuance done to the values of the vintage pythons?

well, so much for ordering a 6 inch from turners. i called and they said they couldnt take and order on anything that they dont have current access to. but at least my pre order on the 4.25 python is still valid.

back when these first got released. I went to a local stocking colt dealer by my house. The owner told me "it is illegal for him to accept a deposit on an unsafe handgun." I quote because it is a load of Fudd. But either way he wasn't gonna do it. I couldn't find anyone to throw money at up in Northern California bay area for a deposit. So maybe next year.
