    G19 KCI Mags Issue

    Hello everyone,
Do we have a solution for lousy G19 KCI Mags? I have a few, the spring is obviously too weak to reliably feed the gun.

    Thank you.

Stick with OEM or Magpul (target, not for SD).

All else, you’re likely to run into issues.

I agree. Glock mags are cheap enough. Buy 10 once, then you’re set.

if a weak mag spring is your only issue, buy some new springs.

Standard fix is to replace the KCI magazine spring with a Glock magazine spring.

Bonus fix is after replacing the magazine spring, replace the magazine follower with the current generation magazine follower.

          IMO...
Buy factory Glock magazines, in the long run, they are less expensive than the majority of aftermarket magazines, that you will need to spend extra money on to improve reliability or constantly replace because durability is not as good as the OEM magazines.

...after that replace the magazine body and floor plate with a Glock magazine body and floor plate and you will have a Glock magazine that works!

Thank you all for the advice and the healthy sense of humor. Of course, I do use OEM and Magpul, but I suddenly found a few KCI mags purchased a few years back. I will try to install Glock spring and follower to see if it works. At the very least, I will have a few mags to practice the malfunction drills

How much are these KCI mags? PMAGs are like 12 bucks. They work well for me.

I've seen KCI's for as low as $6.99. So there's some cushion to work with.

You can pick up the multipacks of the +13% power springs from https://ghostinc.com/ and pick up a pack of MOABs while you're at it (very similar to the Vicker's tactical bases for glock mags).

Thank you. KCI follower is still ok?

This. I've never really considered buying anything but OEM mags for a Glock.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

KCI followers should be ok. Most of the time, the springs are the only thing that need changing to make those fairly reliable. But hey, if you want you can always pick some up and change em out later if there are issues or have spares for your OEM mags.
