CZ SP-01 question

I'm new to CZs. Just bought my P-01 about a month ago, however my question is about the SP-01.

I've noticed that some SP-01s have 2 rails and some have 3. The website shows a 2 rail model. I also know the Tactical version has 3 rails and a decocker, however I'm seeing the standard, non-tactical safety model with both 2 and 3 rails/spaces. Here's a pic off the CZ website, followed by one for sale on a website. Different amount of rails.

Are the newer versions the ones with 3 rails or 2? When did CZ change the look?

I've never noticed that. I'm gonna check my 2016 sp01 tonight to see how many slots it has.

EDIT: I looked at a picture of mine. 3 notches.

My SP-01 with a 2009 date has 3 notches. I'll have to look at mine with a 2018 date when I get home.

OP, did you see the 60 second manufacturer's video located on the same webpage as the top image you posted? There are 3 notches.

Way back around 2007 they had three also.

Maybe the 3rd slot is a loaded battery indicator flag slot for california models only?

The newer ones has 3 rails from what I recall.

I think they had two notches prior to 2006.

my 2018 = 3 slots
the 2014 I sold = 3 slots

I have both versions: with the decocker (Tactical) and the manual safety. Both produced in 2019. Both have 3 notches. I also noticed the two notches on the their web site few months ago and thought this is how they used to build them years ago.

For extra fun, check the front sight of your SP-01s so see how off-center they are. That's a fun one...

CZ does the worst job with their front sight alignments of any company I've ever seen. On the plus side, at least they adjust the rear sights to compensate.
