      Not too worried about the textured part of the grip because I can always get that stippled (laser, not hideous soldering iron) if needed.

        The size of the image and lighting aren't showing too much. Looks like mine (lovely!). The juice might not be worth the squeeze in this case.

          It can be polished out with a very high grit sand paper and then jewelers rogue.

                      the easiest fix is adding TALON GRIPS

                      then you dont have to alter anything or remove material

                        Was going to say to leave it as is, but that’s not what the OP is looking for. Unfortunately. To each his own.

                        Buffing will affect finish and will have to include larger area to blend in even if color matches. Texture will not.
