I had one of the FNP 9 USG models years ago, it was ok. No holsters, few sights, expensive mags, and soft enough grip that the mags wouldn't drop if you have a man's grip. I sold it and haven't looked at FN polymer guns since.Comment

Good post!Originally posted by jessegpresleyMy first gun was a Springfield TRP. I didn't buy a Glock because both my friends already had Glocks and I wanted something different.
I was dumb. I wasted a lot of time fooling around with esoteric guns before finally coming around to the utility and general ease of ownership of Glock. After I took my first few pistol classes I understood that "how a gun feels in the hand" isn't important, and that most people who say that don't actually know how to properly hold a hand gun. There's a reason why most of the world's serious shooters, whether they're Green Berets or Secret Service, FBI, Navy SEALS or Air Marshals carry Glocks, not VP9SKs.
Take whatever gun you own, like that P2000SK that is another turd (Customs and Border Protection are dumping their P2000s for... Glock), into a 2 day defensive pistol class. You'll probably hate it and begin to understand why it's a Glock world. Decocking all the time isn't fun. 10 lb double action triggers aren't fun. Sub compact pistols aren't fun for high round counts. Listen to this podcast with the guy who runs Phlster holsters about larger guns can actually carry easier than smaller guns.
The phone you're reading this on. Is it an iPhone, a Samsung or a Nokia Lumia running Windows? These guns you're looking at are the Nokias and Blackberrys of today.
