      Need more information.

Is it a Registered Assault Weapon?
^Then it can only be sold to a CA FFL dealer with an assault weapons permit or sold out-of-state through an out-of-state FFL dealer.

Is it a semi-auto AR style pistol with just a "bullet button" style magazine release?
^Then it is considered an assault weapon and it is illegal to possess within CA [PC 30605(a)] and illegal to advertise for sale or transfer or transport within CA [PC 30600(a)].

Is it a semi-auto AR style pistol with a fixed 10 round magazine that can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action or that is permanently attached in the firearm's magazine well?
^Then it can be sold via PPT.

Is it a manually operated AR style pistol?
^Then it can be sold via PPT.

Is it an AR style pistol that is disassembled into parts?
^Then just the receiver can be sold via PPT and the other parts can be sold direct to buyer.

SSE stands for "single shot exemption" and it applies to the CA handgun roster. Since you are a private party, the roster does not apply and you don't need to do any maneuvering to bypass the roster.

HOWEVER, as Quiet lists above, you do have to worry about AW laws, especially with pistols because they cannot be made "featureless." In short, you cannot sell an AW in state (and you might have an illegal configuration to begin with) so you have to make sure it is configured as non-AW.
