    Everyone seems to have good rational explanations but have you considered that if this is the California compliant version drifting to the left is normal.

          I used to have that problem really badly. I still do a little. I found out I was slightly flinching. Lots of careful practice improved things substantially. But it requires hard and consistent work. Good luck!

              Just for fun, lay it in a V block and look how big the circle is on the wall that it makes as you spin it without moving the V block...

              I had one here once that made a 24" diameter circle at 8ft.
