Lage max-11

Have a chance to buy a Lage Max-11 upper for my MPA30sst. I am handgun roster exempt but I am weary of assault weapons language that deals with semi auto hand guns.
(4) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(C) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel that allows the bearer to fire the weapon without burning his or her hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel.
Has anyone run one of these uppers/seen them and do you think this is crossing any AWB Law lines.

Who knows in CA? If I was king I'd call it what it is, an integral part of the upper receiver. BTW, make sure it has a bolt for semi-auto. My guess is most of those were made for full-auto machine guns.
