Yeah, typically speaking 1911s prefer fmj. Plenty will feed anything, your 1911 may not.

I have shot this through my old Springfield TRP. You should be ok. Also only some 9mm is magnetic. The 45hp is not. I have a case of it myself.

Geco is a good quality ammo. I use it in number of calibers.

Lol, I’m not familiar with this mall ninja. When you said that I thought you were going to talk about the TMNT for some reason. Lol. Anyway, I decided to go with 500 rounds of Winchester FMJ+their Premium HP combo. I have learned A LOT about guns, but ammo is tough. I spend a few hours each week trying to figure out trajectories, expansion, penetration, velocity, effect from elements...etc.

Any suggestions where I could get some ammo 101?

Geco is fine quality factory ammo---I've shot Geco ammo in several calibers thru many firearms---no issues or complaints...

I've used that stuff before. I didn't really have any issues with it. I did notice that it seemed to be cleaner than some of the ammo I used.

Don't over think it. If it goes bang when you want it to, runs in your gun, and hits reasonably close to where you're aiming it's good. It's all variable round to round most of the time. It's more important to have good fundamentals with the gun and be consistent with your shot placement. All the latest and greatest bullet design, and performance testing doesn't mean Jack if you don't hit what you want to.

There are probably a metric ton of Youtube videos on ammo testing and performance, most of that goes right out the window when you're not shooting in controlled conditions anyway. They will give you an average or a base line for how well the particular round performs, under controlled conditions.

I've shot this brand long ago during the late 70's and 80's for a great price back then.

It appears to be on the shelves recently in a fresher packaging lately.

It's good ammo to shoot and is non-corrosive. I however never shot the HP version though.

Have fun at the range with it.

I haven't used their HP, but love love their fmj 9mm and 45 acp. I wish I could buy more, those days are long gone. I was able to buy at my local Sportsmans Warehouse that has departed to gunstore heaven.

All the Geco ammo I've shot felt hot, accurate, and clean. All boxes were checked.
