    Glock Compensator on a 1911

    Why not?

You can get a 6" barrel for a gov model 1911. There will be about an inch of barrel hanging out of the bushing.

Have the end threaded to size, screw the compensator on and pin it. That will leave enough access to the bushing for a take down.

It can be done but will look super dorky.

Why wouldn't you just get a 1911 comp? Comps were being put on 1911's before the Glock was even invented.

Yup! There are lots of compensators for 1911s that will blend in better instead of getting one for a Glock, which will look out of place. Probably better compensators out there than Killer Innovation.

Interestingly, OP only wants the "Killer innovations comp" and mentions using a skilled gun smith!.

If the cost and going to gun smith is no issues, EGW makes an excellent Titanium Compensator which is threaded, light weight and far more effective at the job.

Yes indeed. With standard 9mm ammo a 2 port is probably enough, but if the OP has plans on 9mm Major loads a 3 port or even 4 with side ports will be sweet.

In my personal opinion I haven’t seen a lot of aesthetically pleasing comps for the 1911. I don’t want a busing comp and so far the 1911 comps I’ve seen take away from the good looks of the 1911 not improve / compliment the design. If you know of a good looking comp, please share!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Do you really think that squarish looking Killer Comp made to match a blocky Glock slide is aesthetically pleasing on a 1911 slide?

Aesthetically pleasing is something like the Wilson Combat comps that fully match the contours of a 1911 slide. Or, a round comp that at least somehow matches the top round of a 1911 slide.

There are plenty of comps that follow the same slide profile.

Though I would get a Schuemann hycomp barrel and have the slide machined so it just blends altogether.

You can buy a kit with a drop-in match barrel, comp, and bushing combo all over the internet.

Does it bother anyone else that the manufacturer of the comp has to put a 9 minute video titled
"Killer Innovations Comp Trouble Shooting Video" right on the product page?

Is this to mitigate the number of support emails and calls that they receive concerning the comp?

It would be purely for show since it’s just a barrel swap on a 1911. If it’s runs well cool, otherwise just to show off. The one made for the CZ P10 is more rounded compared to the squared Glock version so I’d prob go with that one
