If buyers are foolish enough to pay it, then it is what the market value will be. For those that know, the discontinuation is non-news. Like any Glocks Gen 4 is widely supported by the aftermarket and has significant amount of compatibility with Gen 3 parts. No big deal. Some even say Gen 3's better.

I was speaking beyond context of CA and Calguns. Yes, some people do indeed think Gen 3s are better... regardless of your opinion.

looks like my Gen4 FDE that I paid the off-roster premium for, might actually have been a good investment!

If a car manufacturer introduces a new model, they stop producing the old one. Same with guns. GEN5s have replaced the GEN4s. The only reasons GEN3s are still in production is California. However, with GEN6 Glocks being on the horizon, they will eventually break the mold for GEN3s. When this will happen we don't know, but it will happen eventually, most likely when Democrat-controlled California prohibits all guns without a psych evaluation for $1,000 and a licensing fee of $2,500. Per gun.

That would be interesting if they discontinued the gen 3. Apparently some think its the best model.

To me , Gen3 G17 is best. I was issued Gen2 27 years ago, then Gen3, then bought my own Gen4 , now issued Gen5. Still prefer Gen3 G17. PS. People who ACTUALLY CARRY loaded handguns 24/7/365 , don't necessarily want the latest or the coolest pistols. They have totally different considerations .

I have a Gen4 G19 FDE that has never been fired, with a SureFire X300 Ultra also in FDE. I have three other G19s (2 Gen3's and another Gen4), so I just sort of have the FDE Gen4 as a stock photo gun.
