Thinking possibly it was never broken in by PO? Glocks need a brake in period?

Came with four mags, all labeled 40 cal, but with 357 labeled plastic piece above spring in mag installed ( don’t know what this piece is called). The ammo seems to hang up when removing by hand also, or just racking the slide to dump rounds.

My gun guy recommended gettin factory rounds. Anyone with experience with this gun that can offer up ammo suggestions (including defense rounds) or any other tips to eliminate this issue much appreciated. I just got this on permit and can’t have hang ups for self defense.
That plastic piece is called the follower. Are the mags Glock mags? It sounds like those might not be the right mags for your gun. I'd try buying the factory mag for that Glock, or at least looking at one to make sure it is the same as yours, that would be the first step.

Edit: If the mag says .40 it's the wrong mag. Here is how your mag should look https://gunmagwarehouse.com/glock-ma...mer-black.html even if they changed the follower the feed lips have different dimensions and will cause feeding issues like you are having.

10-4. Not sure why this pistol didn’t come with stock 357 mags. Hope it is not just a 32 slide...

It’s a myth 40 cal mags are completely reliable in ALL glock 357 sigs. You roll the dice, when using 40 cal mags in 357 sig some are reliable some are not, speaking for my experience. The problem seems to be more aggravated the smaller the pistol. I have all 3.

Make sure the mags are marked .357

Different follower in the .40 mags and will give you feeding problems.
