Warcomp + Warden?

Hello all,
I know that some of you who read this are not a legit lawyer but input is helpful. But my question is, is it okay to run a this setup on an AR pistol?
No where on the site does it say its flash suppressing and a plethora of individuals say its a flash enhancer.
My friend has an ar pistol with a fixed mag and always uses a 10rnd mag. Does the added warden compromise his freedom?

The combo acts like a linear comp pushing the blast forward. I’d imagine the flash is not being hidden at all. The combo is also very heavy.

Trust me... It's not suppressing the flash. Either way it wouldn't matter, you can have a flash hider on a fixed mag ar. Also pretty sure the warcomp already is considered a flashider. The SF muzzle brake is the "non-flashider" device

Just to clarify, can he run a forward vertical pistol grip on it? I know for regular semi auto pistols, it would be considered a SBR, but since its fixed, can he?

AR Pistols can't be featureless, so as long as they are in a legal configuration (some type of mag lock) then features don't matter.

So, the answer to you question is yes, the OP can run a vertical pistol grip on his compliant AR pistol as AOWs are legal to possess in CA. However, in order to comply with federal law, he'd first have to pay the $200 tax (it costs $200 to make an AOW, but only $5 to transfer one), file a Form 1 application to create a AOW, obtain approval from the ATF to add the fore grip, have the pistol engraved and then he could add the fore grip.

IIRC, No fwd grip on am AR pistol unless it's over 26". Then it becomes an AOW.

Just take the VFG off before you make it below 26". This is a federal law. CA has no law regarding AR pistol and VFG. The mag lock makes everything, the threaded barrel, FH, VFG, etc. exempt.

You're correct. Anything 26.00 inches and longer is now a "firearm" as per BATF. I keep these opinion letters on my phone.

So you can run a VFG federally. BATF defines a VFG as a 90 degree grip. Just run a angled fore grip and you will be ok. BCM is a 87 degree grip. Use discretion and be smart. Angled fore grips will suffice and so will handstops.

In Maine we don't care what you run as long as it's not an AR pistol with a stock or under 26 inches in OAL with a 90 degree VFG. I have kept this since 2015.

Remember the BATF changes it's opinion from time to time and even there most recent one had a few changes on how to measure for the 26.00 inches.
