Here's another glock thread. I know some 10mm can get real hot around 1500 fps. Do these come prepared to shoot something like that stock? Can it handle those pressures or do people upgrade to fully supported barrels?

WTB 3rd Gen SW also looking for a 22 pistol with 6" bbl or longerTags: None -
Supposedly they can run all jacketed factory ammo stock, but it is generally accepted that the hog wild stuff should have a new barrel (with full case supposed and traditional rifling) and a stronger recoil spring (mostly to keep your brass from launching into the stratosphere).
I’ll try to DROS mine tomorrow, I’m more interested in the .45 ACP +P territory - the nuclear stuff will be fun intermittently, but looking forward to some fun heavy plinking.Last edited by plumbum; 04-30-2020, 1:40 PM.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion

Glocks will shoot any SAAMI spec ammo... with a copper jacket or semi jacketed
If you reload, buy an aftermarket barrel to save on brass wear and lifespan...Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Seems to hold up well to high velocities.
For a cast bullet with hi Ted coating would you need an after market barrel? Looking at the Missouri bullets.WTB 3rd Gen SW also looking for a 22 pistol with 6" bbl or longerComment

At a minimum, you need a heavier recoil spring to help the frame. Depends on the volume of shooting. I bought a 6" lone wolf to use as a hunting side arm. Half of the reason that I bought the barrel was to maximize velocity, and the other half was to prevent wear on stock barrel.Comment

I have never had a issue with my G20 n hot ammo n still use a stock RSA. My buddy who is an Alaskan guide hasn’t very early Gen3 n has been shooting hot loads for years with no issue. He does change the stock RSA once a year.
If going with a longer barrel then I like to change the RSA to Aftermarket one.WildLeaks.org -

Shooting very hot loads in an automatic can always be problematic. If you want to do that, get a .41 Magnum revolver.Comment

How far were your cases ejecting? Any pictures of the frame you used?WTB 3rd Gen SW also looking for a 22 pistol with 6" bbl or longerComment

I'm guessing your talking about standard 180gr? 1500fps is normal for a 135gr. I'm not sure if it's even possible to get that with a 180 given the gun doesn't come apart at the seams. I wouldn't try it myself. But then again I don't reload.
Simple physics, more powder equals faster wear on the components.Comment
